IMSS is seeking an
experienced Medical QA Specialist for a challenging and unique opportunity to work
at the Occupational Health Facility located at NASA’s premier multi-user
spaceport at Kennedy Space Center, Florida.
This dynamic position
works directly with the IMSS medical team in the rapidly developing government
and commercial aerospace industry.
This is a full-time
position with full benefits, paid time off, paid holidays and company profit
sharing.
Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Coordinates,
develops and implements plans and controls medical quality assurance program
activities in accordance with ISO 9001, JCAHO, VPP, OSHA, and NASA
requirements;
2. Document
Control for Medical Services organization, including coordinating annual
document review, revision and management re-approval, and publication in
electronic systems;
3. Acts
as HIPAA Compliance Officer for IMSS, to ensure company compliance and
understanding of HIPAA and Privacy Act requirements;
4. Point
of Contact for medical department quality control requirements;
5. Identify
documentation needs for each program while ensuring that the Medical Services
organization is within the documented guidelines of other guiding agencies
(e.g. OSHA);
6. Works
closely with the Medical Services Director on Performance Improvement projects
and endeavors. Solicits and compiles
information from the Administration, Medical Director and/or Chief Nurse as
required, to implement quality programs.
7. Maintains
oversight of Medical Records and Electronic Medical Records and Patient
Scheduling Systems, conducts daily data audits, notifies Medical Services
organization management of required corrective actions, and tracks action
completion. Works with management and
Information Technology personnel to develop and implement system improvements;
8. Conducts
independent audits, analyzes results for potential areas of improvement;
9. Acts
as Medical Services liaison with a wide range of organizations, including IMSS
Finance, Contracts, NASA, Air Force, and KSC/CCAFS Contractor Points of
Contact, to assist in patient scheduling, coordination of contractual services,
and implementation of necessary medical surveillance and certification
programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
/ Training:
This position requires a Bachelor degree in related field.
Three (3) years related experience in technical field preferred. Past experience in medical service
environments and Safety, Health and Quality Assurance functions is
desired.
Knowledge
/ Skills / Abilities:
Requires the ability to read, analyze, and interpret written
information including applicable regulations.
Also must possess computer skills including word processing and
spreadsheet applications, and good oral and written communication skills.
This position requires a strong background in OSHA medical
surveillance standards and requirements.
Also acts as an independent auditor for all audit points within the
Medical Department.
