Integrated Mission Support Services (IMSS) is seeking a qualified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for a short-term assignment to facilitate a surge of Occupational Medicine Certification Exams/Physicals.   

 

 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Under the supervision, direction and responsibility of the Medical Director or designated physician, this temporary position provides daily medical care to patients for pre-employment examinations, work-related injuries or illnesses, disability examinations, and any other requests for medical care. 

 

Plans, directs, controls, coordinates, and evaluates medical examinations, activities and associated medical care.

 

Examines patients, performs physical exams, and compiles patient medical data including health history and results of physical exams, radiological and laboratory tests.

 

Maintains and demonstrates skills with screening procedures and equipment, including but not limited to audiometry, visual acuity and color vision testing, pulmonary function testing, electrocardiograms (ECGs), exercise stress testing (treadmill) and vital signs equipment.   

 

Maintains and demonstrates skills in interviewing and counseling patients, and in communicating observations, information, or recommendations regarding diagnosis or treatment to medical professionals and other staff in oral/written form. 

 

 

Provides health care services to patients under the direction and responsibility of a physician.

 

Tracks certifications of all medical staff personnel to ensure a currency is maintained.

 

Supervises assigned medical staff.

 

Maintains familiarity with all emergency procedures and medical operating instructions and policies.

 

       

Makes clinical diagnoses and creates associated healthcare and follow-up plans, including work status and work restrictions.

 

Creates working instructions based on site conditions and medical services available.

 

Provides preventative, therapeutic, restorative, and maintenance aspects of health care. 

 

Coordinates treatment plans with other caregivers.

 

Assists in active implementation of Company initiatives to ensure compliance with OSHA VPP, ISO, JCAHO and other mandated regulatory or conformance regulations/standards.

 

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education / Training:

 

Position requires certification as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the U.S., current Fla. State licensure with applicable education/recertification requirements completed, and 10 years medical experience in a primary care or occupational health setting, with at least 4 as a PA. State specific practice requirements may apply.

 

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

 

This position requires complete knowledge of principles relative to Federal, State and Local regulations relating to areas of specialty, data management and reporting. Requires the ability to read and interpret written information and effectively communicate verbally and in writing where information includes scientific terminology.  Requires a valid driver’s license. 

 

Job activities may involve prolonged periods of sitting or standing, PC operation, and good eye-hand coordination; writing, reading; occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.

 

 

Working Conditions:

 

Must thrive in a team atmosphere and effectively work with all levels of employees.  General office environment may require minor lifting and bending.

 

Complies with all Company safety policies and site-specific safety procedures.  Participates in and supports the KEMCON safety program.  Ensures safe operating conditions within area of responsibility.  Identifies potential hazards, concerns, and safety incidents and reports to supervisory personnel.
