Duties/Responsibilities   Supports IMSS Environmental Health (EH) and Environmental Service (ES) activities on the NASA Kennedy Environmental and Medical Contract (KEMCON) ensuring the safety of the worker, workplace and environment at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC) and the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAFS). The position interfaces with multiple customers throughout KSC and the CCAFS, receiving work requests to support a wide range of activities at a multi-user spaceport.
 
The KEMCON work control function receives work requests either by phone or email distribution list. Collects all pertinent information from the requestor(s) in order to provide detailed instructions on the work order and is communicated to the appropriate KEMCON department and/or program.  Creates work orders in Maximo to include specific information pertaining to the task such as Point-of-Contact, location, access requirements, etc.  May require validation of specific project charge strings. Transmits work orders to the appropriate Program Manager (PM) and/or Lead/Scheduler for assignment.
 
Creates work orders for reoccurring daily tasks and sends to Lead/Scheduler for assignment. Supports the engineering document review (EDRs) process and coordinates work orders with the appropriate (PM). Receives and coordinates SDS submissions from multiple customers. Validates and closes out completed tasks in Maximo.
 
Coordinates a variety of emergency support work requests throughout KSC and CCAFS, ensuring all critical information is gathered and communicated to EH response personnel. Interacts and communicates launch support activities and other associated tasks.   Performs duties in compliance with Federal, State, local, NASA and Air Force laws and regulations and requirements and KSC/CCAFS energy management conservation regulations, collective bargaining agreements, security, safety, hurricane and other specialized programs or contractual requirements relating to the business of the section, working within the limits of established policy.
 
Assists in active implementation of company initiatives to ensure compliance with OSHA VPP, ISO, JCAHO and other mandated regulatory or conformance regulations/standards.     QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:   A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a related field of project or work flow management.  This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related environmental or management field, or an additional 5 years of work experience in a related field in lieu of a degree. 

 Must possess working knowledge of computer operating system, database, spreadsheet, word processing, graphics, and other common programs. 
 
MAXIMO experience highly preferred.
 
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and knowledge of specialized terminology and regulations relating to departmental operations.
 
Must possess skilled keyboard operation and ability to operate for sustained periods.
 
 
Working Conditions:
 
Must thrive in a team atmosphere and effectively work with all levels of employees. General office environment may require minor lifting and bending.
 
Complies with all Company safety policies and site-specific safety procedures.  Participates in and supports the KEMCON safety program.  Ensures safe operating conditions within area of responsibility.  Identifies potential hazards, concerns, and safety incidents and reports to supervisory personnel.
