JOB TITLE:                          Lab Lead

REPORTS TO:                     Lab Builder

PROGRAM:                          Lab - Reno

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Laboratory Lead is expected to perform all aspects of laboratory material testing in conformance with GES’ quality standards and client schedules.  The Lab Lead performs testing on construction materials such as soil, concrete, asphalt, and other specialized materials.  The Lab Lead is also expected to oversee lab operations, assign/delegate testing and other lab duties, facilitate appropriate trainings for lab staff, and operate in a safe and clean manner.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Schedule and assign lab testing

·         Oversee lab operations, while maintaining a   clean and safe environment

·         Order lab supplies

·         Facilitate lab training for lab staff (lab procedures, conducting tests, etc.)

·         Lab filing

·         Perform laboratory testing and prepare detailed reports with quality and accuracy, delivering results on time

·         Obtain and maintain relevant certifications

·         Follow safety manual guidelines

·         Pick up field samples for laboratory testing and discuss scope of laboratory testing and discuss scope of laboratory testing with the Field & Laboratory Supervisor

·         Maintain testing equipment and related housekeeping tasks in a thorough, efficient manner

·         Coordinate laboratory testing with the supervisor

·         Demonstrate and foster a positive work environment

·         Show commitment as a team player and as a leader

·         Perform other duties as assigned

Laboratory testing will be completed on schedule in conformance with the company’s quality standards. Managers and field staff will receive accurate test results on time, enabling superior customer service.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS DESIRED

·         High School diploma

·         Good oral and written communication skills

·         Excellent client relations skills

·         Experience in construction materials Testing

·         Bachelor's degree preferred
