GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Business Development Coordinator will assist in identifying and directing the marketing proposal efforts for the company; compiling responses to Requests for Proposals in conjunction with technical staff; assist in identifying and pursuing new markets and prospective clients; and providing positive public relationships through activity in community organizations and professional associations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.     Work with Client Relations team and Project Managers to research and prepare materials, including qualifications, brochures, presentations, newsletters, proposals, award submittals, announcements, and reports.

2.     Maintain CRM data and update as needed.

3.     Write non-technical text; edit and proofread all marketing communications.

4.     Responsible for timely production and quality of marketing proposals and communications.

5.     Participates in web/social media content and marketing materials development.  Involved in coordinating Client events.

6.     Maintain mailing lists, provide desktop publishing, and archive files.

7.     Compile information to populate company data systems:  photography, resumes, projects, contact management, and skill-sets tracking.

8.     Develop and coordinate graphics; write and edit layout materials.

9.     Perform other duties as assigned.

The Business Development Coordinator will learn and then work within the defined company policies governing assigned duties.  He or she will interact with clients and other professionals appropriately (as generally accepted in the local professional community) in both professional and social settings and establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS DESIRED

·         Communicate well, both verbally and written

·         Exhibit proficient technical computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.) and data base management

·         Be effective in proposal planning and coordination

·         Exhibit excellent organizational and customer service skills

·         Handle multiple tasks on a tight deadline

·         Make independent decisions critical to job

·         Be a quick self-starter and a team player, while working cooperatively on a diverse team

·         Actively committed to participating in an employee-focused culture is a must

·         Bachelor’s degree in marketing, English, engineering, or a closely related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

·         Minimum of five years of related experience, A/E industry experience preferred.

·         1+ year of document layout and production experience.
