LOCATION:                        Las Vegas

REPORTS TO:                   Lab Practice Builder

PROGRAM:                        Field and Laboratory

PAY RANGE:                      $20-$27 Per Hour (DOE)


GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION                                                                                                                                                  

The Laboratory Materials Technician is responsible for conducting comprehensive field observations and laboratory testing of construction materials in alignment with GES, Inc. quality standards and client schedules. This role involves testing materials such as soil, concrete, asphalt, and other specialized substances to ensure compliance with specifications. The technician will work closely with field and lab supervisors, project managers, and program managers to coordinate testing activities.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES                                                                                                                                                   

·        Perform field/laboratory testing and prepare detailed reports summarizing construction materials field/lab testing and observations with quality and accuracy, delivering results on time

·        Obtain and maintain relevant certifications

·        Follow Safety Manual guidelines

·        Obtain field samples for laboratory testing and discuss scope of laboratory testing with the Project Manager; communicate proactively with dispatch, managers and clients to discuss progress of field work

·        Maintain testing equipment and related housekeeping tasks in a thorough, efficient manner

·        Demonstrate and foster a positive work environment

·        Show commitment as a team player

·        Represent themselves professionally to internal and external clients

·        Perform other duties as assigned


DESIRED OUTCOMES OR RESULTS                                                                                                                                  

Testing is to be completed on time and in accordance with company quality standards. Accurate and timely test results are delivered to clients, managers, and field staff, ensuring a high level of customer service. Laboratory testing, field testing, and observations are performed according to the daily schedule and established protocols, promoting collaborative relationships among technicians, project managers, clients, and team members.


EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS DESIRED                                                                                                          

·        Minimum 6 months experience in construction materials testing

·        Minimum 2 certifications relevant to the work to be performed

·        High School diploma

·        Valid driver’s license

·        Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening

·        Good oral and written communication skills
